Ben Landheer grew up on a dairy farm in Grant, MI. In 1957, at age 21, he became a part-time agent with Farm Bureau Insurance. Six years later, Ben transitioned to a full-time role, laying the foundation for the Landheer Insurance Agency in Fremont, MI. Over the next 50 years, Ben’s passion for building relationships grew the agency into a trusted insurance provider for families, businesses, and farms across multiple generations. Although Ben is technically retired, you’ll still find him in the office regularly because, as he says, “you can never retire if you never really went to work.”

David Landheer, Ben’s son, joined the agency over 20 years ago after running his own real estate appraisal business in Grand Haven, MI. David expanded on his father’s legacy, growing the business while maintaining its relationship-driven approach. David is highly respected in the insurance community and in the Fremont community for his dedication, hard work, and integrity.

Jon Workman, David’s son-in-law, recently joined the team as an agent. With years of experience in sales, account management, and entrepreneurship, Jon is eager to continue the legacy and build on the strong foundation laid by Ben and David. He shares their commitment to personalized service and lasting relationships, ensuring that the Landheer/Workman Agency continues to provide trusted insurance solutions across generations.
